The City of Grand Terrace will be looking for funds to replace the revenue previously skimmed off of Redevelopment Agency Funding. Where to look? Well, you know where. The City Council will discuss all sorts of ways to drain more money away form the citizens to perpetuate the City's Existence and to continue to pay Over Paid City Managers and continue intrusive regulations that are over layered already on Federal, State and County Regulations.
It is time to say NO MORE. IF we can't exist as a City at current revenues then it is time to revert to County Level of Services and be done with that. Citizens should not be paying Herman Hilkeys Life Insurance, Excessive Retirement of Former City Manager, and Council Members who use their elected position to get Medical Insurance and Medical Costs covered while asking Citizens to pitch in one more dime in taxes and fees and fines is just not acceptable.
Let the County have City Hall. Let them house the library in it at County Cost. Let the rest of the building be used as a Youth Center for the Advancement of Science Studies or some such thing. Hopefully the county would use some of the tax money that would revert to them to fund cleaning of parks, and a sheriff now and then.
This over costly un sustainable City Government should come to an end. End it NOW not in June or July or a year from now when it will just cost more and more to end it. Pull the Plug NOW.
This will end the Rental Home Inspection Fee, and the City Ordinances that are beyond County Ordinances. It will end the designation of City Wide Blight that is or was used to justify the Redevelopment Agency. We may have to apply to be declaired "Un Blighted" so we have our property rights restored.
The Community of Grand Terrace will still exist after the incorporation of the City of Grand Terrace is terminated. Some folk think the Community will be better served and more of a Community when the City is dissolved.
So watch your pocket books, your tax liens, and don't surrender. Take back your freedom a bit, let's welcome the end of the "City Government" and the return to the County Government. That is more than enough Government for a people who desire freedom.
Check out the Agenda for the Next Council Meeting: It is 300 pages long... a big down load and lots of reading.
