Business in Grand Terrace / Violations Suspected

Hammar-Lift has been operating in Grand Terrace for several years... see their web page.

Swertfegers Equipment INC http://swertfegers.vihn.net/home.asp is the "Owener" of the property where that business is doing business. Swartfiger Equipment's Operations have raised concern regarding Conditional Use Permit Violations.

In the discovery process the fact that Hammar-Lift a separate entity and business has a facility on the site raised question and concern. When City Officials were asked about the building permits, and business licenses and permits on that Unique Business Entity none were provided.

Perhaps there is a Lease agreement between Swartfiger Equipment and Hammar-Lift. This would be on record with San Bernardino County Records if it were properly filed.

Now here is the rub. We have all seen the man selling strawberries run out of town because he has no business license. In addition he may lose all his inventory and his transportation to confiscation. What action has the City taken to collect back taxes and licenses on this company? What action has the City Planning and Code Inspectors taken to insure that the operations are permitted and safe for that location and the employees and neighbors?

This is a matter still under investigation.

Production increasing at Hammar Lift in California.

The production at Hammar Lift, Inc. facility at Grand Terrace in California is increasing steadily. The company that was founded in 2006 does now have an ever increasing production flow of four different HAMMAR trailers for two HAMMAR crane models, the 151 and the 195 cranes.
The production will soon be moved to new production facilities for increased capacity and efficiency. Measures that is necessary to meet the demand of HAMMAR sideloaders from the market.
Containers are coming in to Grand Terrace with cranes and trailer beams to be ready assembled and finished with US components and delivered to customers, all over North America.
“This is a very exiting period!” says Lars Frantzich, VP of Hammar Lift, Inc. and responsible for the operation.
“A lot of hard work, but very rewarding when the HAMMAR’s reach their new owners and start their operation. We expect to increase the assembly and continue developing the sales to new customers all over the US and Canada too. There is certainly enough need for our equipment on the market to keep us busy for a long time.”

New Production Facilities
Hammar Lift, Inc. USA anxiously waits for the new production facility in Grand Terrace, CA, which will be finished early in 2008.

Shipment Arrives
Another container arrives in CA and as always….it is full.
Trailer frames and the Crane Sets are made in a very modern HAMMAR factory in Olsfors Sweden, for export to over 85 countries around the world and now….to the USA. All other components to make US DOT approved trailers; axles, hubs, wheels, brakes, suspensions and lighting are sourced in the US by Hammar Lift, Inc. west coast operation, where the trailer manufacturing and final assembly is done.

Unpacking is Tedious Work
Trailer frames made in Sweden coming out of the container.
It is hard to believe…….a sideloader manufacturer unloading a container while it is sitting on the chassis, but when sales sells everything by the time it is ready, or before, you have no choice.
It will be great when the drayage company gets their sideloader and can set it on the ground for unloading.

Unloading at Ground Level
Unloading the container at ground level is what it’s all about.
Safe, fast, less problems and……..it’s the way it was loaded!
