GT Citizen About to Lose Property Rights

Are you next?

Jo Stringfield is about to lose her rights to own, use and enjoy her property. Right here in Grand Terrace. Yes, Here in the USA she has been pressured and out maneuvered by the greedy City Council, and their minions the Redevelopment Agency lead by the notorious Mr. Tom Schawb.

The idea is that the City needs the family property for a shopping center. There have been offers made and rejected, and emanate domain threats made to force a sale or transfer of the property. Emanate domain laws were designed to provide for public works, not shopping centers. So the city put in the concept of blending the project with the public library… This maneuver may help them win in court, but their true intention is to build a shopping mall. Not a school, Not a True Public Works Project.

Oh did we forget that Mr. Schwab was gifted a house by the City, as part of his employment. Is he willing to move back to where ever he came from so the city can build a library in his neighborhood? Did he pay personal income tax on that property, and who paid for that property to begin with…

Jo Stringfield should be offered the replacement value of the property. Say find a house in Grand Terrace with nearly 2 ac of property and determine it’s value. The City has maneuvered the situation she and the other’s are unable to get fair market value for their property. The Zoning change, and the Use Plan for the “Town Center” precludes any fair market assessment. How about, finding her a house, and giving her a portion of the future income from the property… that may be reasonable… but to use the current city approach… well,, there are names for that… lets start with fascist, dictatorial, possibly criminal. It is UNAMERICAN.

I for one will never set foot in a store in the Town Center. Further more, I suggest a boycott of all Grand Terrace Businesses that support the City’s Redevelopment Agency, and City Council’s actions.
