Thoughts on Jan 13 Meeting of GTCC

City Council Meeting Jan 13, 2005.

What did you think of the meeting?

Wow??? This will take more than 3 Minutes.

Will there be houses on Blue Mt? Asked and never addressed.
Can that Island in the street be un-built?
Debt 13 Million
Cats Cats and More Cats

If I buy a hunk of art and plant it in the middle of the street is that a good thing or a safety issue... Not to say the island in the street is a piece of art.

How about those pictures used to demonstrate the need for a curb. The pictures were taken at an angle to show closeness of the cars... wrong... there is plenty of bad driving but not a limit of space right at the corner where Visitors may want to park. How do those folks back out of their drive way??? Mt. Vernon is not a 4 lane street, and at the corner there is actually room to park a car and have 2 lanes and then also provide for the turn lanes further up near the GTRd and Mt.V corner. Steve should take a picture while standing on the same side of the street, not at an angle like he did.

Street and curb changes... When Steve suggested that the justification for the new red curb is that the curb on the south end of town is red on Mt. Vernon... Lame... come on... The majority of those homes have a block wall on Mt. Vernon. Yes, the 8 or so should be compensated or provided an enlarged driveway for visitors. What good is a house if you can't have friends over?

This city uses Bill Clinton Logic when it comes to Planning, Spending, and Road changes... we do it be cause we can... "Can get some money" that is.

Here is an idea: Reduce speed limits progressively on both Mt. Vernon and Barton Rd down to 25mph, and enforce the slower speed. Drive through traffic may not think GT is a good bypass option if they are in a rush. If they drive slow, and it is reasonable to get into our business on the way home... great... but the current traffic is not an invite to shop on the way home, not in this town any way.

If the speed limit is reduced to at least 35mph then LEV or NEV's (Light Electric Vehicles could be used to run around town, keeping business in town.

Cat's, how about a catch neuter and release program....

Grass on hills? Can GT 4H have a bunch of goats?

What programs for Jr. High School and Sr. High School aged Youth does the city support other than sports... and where could they be held?

Real Questions never addressed by the city..

What is up with the crime report summary...? Release the entire weekly report... I'll be happy to post it... Debt who will pay the Debt?
