......The 2,500-foot peak on the east side of Grand Terrace has become the city's signature, but only 10 percent of mountain property is owned by the city.

The city is negotiating with the peak's private landowners to bring a walking trail or park to residents."

Steve Berry Assistant City Manager and Councilwoman LeAnn Garcia were both quoted in the article. Look forward to typical city action here. First the zoning will be changed so that it will severely limit any development which does not conform with the city's goals. Then, no one will be able to sell their property for current market prices, and the CRA will purchase them up at a reduced price, then sell them to a preferred developer without a public request for bid, and finely the "Park" will be developed and the Developers and their friends will reap the financial gain. Hmmm Where has this happened before?

Now that we know the intention of there being a park, how about a minimalist approach, water , trails, and 4h goat weed eaters. Wilderness rules, pack out what you pack in. 4H Rangers and Youth to help with the weekend operations.
