From the Email InBox: More on 8/14/07 Meeting

Hey Gramps,

Have you noticed that our City Council Meetings are a side show and entertainment rather than serious business that affects the lives of the families in Grand Terrace.

Case in point – when Lee Ann Garcia was talking, Bea Cortez turned to Schwab and was laughing and laughing.

Maryetta Ferre’s story of her life of being involved with the building of the high school in Grand Terrace was boring to say the least. If she doesn’t show more enthusiasm and stand up to AES, I will only see this as another showboat political move.

Why didn’t anyone take the measure to eliminate eminent domain seriously? Because they still want the option to use it in the future. I am sure this is the only thing keeping Jacobson in the loop. It was the original negotiating factor and it is the way he develops all his projects. I am seriously doubting their competency to understand the implications this will have on the generations to follow. Of course, they are only thinking of the money they will make now.

Gramps writes:
Yes,
The City Manager, and Members of the City Council are RUDE.
Their collective dismay and wonderment at why on earth the CJUSD is thinking about not building HS#3. Gee you are right AES is the only thing they did not bring up and it is the thing that they refuse to take an action on.... If in fact they are so ill informed they need to resign from the RDA and the City Council after they fire Tom Schwab and Steve Berry. The City Clerk can run the city more effectively and efficiently. OH Heck Jimmy Carter and a UN Oversight Team would do a better job.
