No Arrests since 4/10/05

The Grand Terrace Sheriff has not recorded an arrest since 4/10/05. This is to say there may have been numerous reports of crimes, and tickets issued by the sheriff during this time, but sheriff activity has not included or resulted in the arrest of criminals of the more serious sorts in the past ten days. The Citizens of the community does not have crime report information untill long after the fact. The city could update the city web page weekly.

Colton Police Department however has been recording a number arrests just at our borders.

Perhaps this is due to the Criminals not Welcome in Grand Terrace signs, it is difficult to determine the effectiveness of the crime situation in Grand Terrace when the data is not reported completely. Is there a correlation between crimes reported and arrests? There is no way of telling. Is there a conviction rate for arrests? Is there a rate of unsolved reported crimes? This is real data that can be used to assess the performance of the law enforcement contracts and the safety of our community.

The Chamber of Commerce has improved its reporting, and the Senior Center continues to report on crimes reported and property recoveries, however this data is fragmented and not correlated so a community member could make any kind of assessment on the efficiency of the contracts as managed by the City Manager.
