It is clear to me at least, that the opinions and wishes of Grand Terrace citizens and voters carry no weight with CJUSD, as I see that the signs announcing the building of the new school have already been changed to proclaim "Ray Abril High School". So it was just another sham meeting to make us think we had some voice in the selection of the name.
There were several reasonable suggestions made, such as to dedicate the library or one of the other buildings to honor Mr. Abril for his good work. But these were apparently ignored.
Well, there will be an election one of these days, and we shall see what happens when the CJUSD members ask for our votes.
