May 22, 2007 City Council Meeting Review:
From the IN BOX:
Surprise, surprise -
AES had 3 representatives at the meeting.
They were not on the agenda, but two of them did speak during public comment.
They said CEC was planning a public workshop in the future - maybe in a couple of months.
They also said they hoped that the workshop would be well attended.
They disputed a few of the "rumors" that they had heard about.
Roxanne Williams spoke after them.
She reminded the city that they still had not made a stand regarding the power plant.
She also reminded Mr. Schwab of his promise to advise the workshop when they have a date for it.
The only council member to comment on the AES, was council member Miller.
Mr. Miller said something about waiting to see what happens with the workshop.
Most of the council members talked about Miguels grand opening and the upcoming Grand Terrace Days.
No mention of the budget surplus, white flowers that help prevent accidents at night, or Grand Terrace becoming the next Hollywood.
From the IN BOX
No mention of the AES Workshop / AES Public Meeting / Or City Council Action prior to the California Energy Commission making a Preliminary Decision. NO they intend on having the meeting after it will have no impact on the California Energy Commission, or input to the Commission by Informed City Council Members. It is the keep them in the dark so they can't be concerned tactic. In Management the Holding Back of Information is a TOOL... and you get the idea what the TOOL is being used for by AES and the City Manager, and The City Council.
The Information that Roxanne Williams is presenting is from AES's and SCAQMD Information, it is not from a rabbit hole.
