Shifting Business is not a Good Thing:

When it was said that the Beauty Supply was moving from the Stater Brother's Center. ( I wonder what the new name will be?), to the Old Hair Bender's Building was a good thing and perhaps an increased momentum to the fill in to the Town Center/Square.

Well, shifting business from one place to another is not an improvement. Nor is the loss of the Hair Benders as a business been mentioned. One hopes that the Beauty Supply Store got a Good Long Term Lease from Jacobsen and or his agent and that they won't be kicked out in a matter of months.

No one has yet seen a real plan for the Town Center/Square. The Court Case regarding the building of Miguel's, and grading of the land, and no doubt other problems will yet be taken to court including the lack of replacement of low and moderate income housing the RDA Project / Land and Support of Jacobsen has removed from the housing element in the city.

All this no doubt is and has been a great frustration to Doug Jacobsen who was mislead by the City Manager to think that everything would go slick and no one would require the proper documents and paper work and procedures be done.

No doubt the news that there may not be any additional ABC Licenses available to GT may also add to the Frustration to Jacobsen's Efforts. Remember that the Offramp and Freeway will be encroaching on businesses and they will have a right to be re located in the city if at all possible.

Perhaps if Doug Jacobsen had listened to the citizens he would have been better advised. But he did not have any more meetings with citizens, he just conspired with Schwab and proceeded without citizen support or involvement.

No Doubt Judge Wade will have more cases on his docket from Grand Terrace if Management and Oversight continues as is.

From the Email Inbox:

Why am I not surprised at Marietta's response to the public. Remember she said it was Mr.. Schwab's responsibility to make the decisions on how to run the City. "I trust Mr.. Schwab's judgment". And, all the questions she asks applicants is about color, and "how aesthetically pleasing is it". Nothing of substance will ever be decided intelligently as long as Maryetta is on the Council.

As for the Beauty Supply moving to Hair Benders; they have been offered a spot in the new Town Center. Don't kid yourself into thinking Jacobsen is no longer interested in Grand Terrace. Developers of his kind don't care who they step on. That is why I never expected to see town meetings. He is not interested in anything except making lots of money at our expense.

I was really surprised when the Council agreed to let the Water Company go in a residentially zoned area on Michigan. We already know they are planning to widen Michigan to four lanes. It is not far fetched that someday all of Michigan will be businesses. Isn't Marietta's husband on the water board?

With regards to the OAC; The area that was planed for a eight acre lake and waterfalls and turned into an RV Sales Park, I'm wondering what they can do when it is a natural habitat for two beautiful hawks, and owls in that area.

Also, remember friend Barney and Jeff are friends of the "Good Ol Boys". They are developers wanting to build in this town. Let's see: Maryetta + Ol Boys = Development not representation of the citizens who want to keep this city family friendly.

Just my opinion
