A man accused of killing someone during a heated argument is on the run, and deputies are asking the public's help in tracking him down.
Jose Garcia Alvarado, a 38-year-old Grand Terrace man, is the prime suspect in a late-night shooting Friday in Victorville, said San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokeswoman Arden Wiltshire.
Several calls about a man wounded in a shooting poured in to dispatchers at 10:55 p.m. Friday. Deputies found the victim, Fransisco Sanchez-Lemus of Victorville, lying in front of his friend's home on Avalon Avenue.
Sanchez-Lemus, 35, had been shot twice. Investigators declined to say where he was shot, what type of gun was used and whether it was recovered.
"The suspect and the victim were involved in an argument, and the suspect shot the victim," Wiltshire said. "They did not know each other prior to this incident."
The shooting happened in front of a house belonging to a mutual friend.
Witnesses said the two men were arguing when shots rang out, but Wiltshire said she is unsure of what they were fighting about.
Alvarado is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. He frequently hangs out in Apple Valley, Oro Grande, Hesperia, Victorville and Grand Terrace.
He was last seen driving a 1994 red Dodge Ram pickup with California license plate number 7N83801.
