From the Email InBox: Council Communication Limits

GT's present leaders and staff are only interested in their point of view. That is why they selectively answer e-mails and phone calls. Vital information about the safety of its citizens, such as the information on a murderer living in Grand Terrace is not something they want to get out because they are trying to attract Big Industry and spenders to Grand Terrace,

They do not take heed to the warnings many concerned citizens have tried, over and over again, to give them, because, I believe, they do not care. They care only about their own special interests and making a name for themselves. The legacy they are leaving behind is one of greed and distruction of our "sleepy bedroom community".

If asked what their view of the future is for Grand Terrace Maryetta will answer "flowers". Because she leaves all the real decisions to City Manager, Schwab and ding dong Steve Berry, who in turn, turn everything over to a multi-million dollar developer, Jacobsen. Jacobsen has no interest in building a city for the citizens. That is why he hasn't held meetings with them as instructed by the Council.

Council spends Big Bucks on bogus reports in order to ram rod their projects through. Why is Miguels in the center of the Town Project? This was originally planned for a fountain and library. And why do they allow drive throughs in GT? Because they care nothing about the traffic and pollution our kids have to face walking to school, or that we have to live in. Have you noticed that the new Shell station has no access? While I am making a left turn onto Barton Road from the southbound freeway exit, cars and exiting the northbound infront of it. How the heck are they suppose to stop at the Shell or Quiznos without causing an accident? Idiots! And what about the Demitris drive through? Three cars could begin a traffic jam during 4:00 and 6:00 pm.

Oh yeah, this isn't the Mayors job to think about this stuff, "That's why they hired a City Manager", says Maryetta Ferre
