Perhaps the City Council should Reconsider:
DO YOU THINK GRAND TERRACE SHOULD PLAY WITH FIRE OR FIREWORKS?
Look at the Fire in LA and See if We have the Resources to balance the RISK?
Do Red Flag Conditions and Drought kick in a State Law Stopping Fireworks?
Is there a power greater and wiser than this City Council that will Protect its Citizens, and Firefighters from the added risk?
NERO PERHAPS? He wanted to Redevelop his City...

No...not anymore. I think it may be time to ban fireworks in Grand Terrace. We're facing a brutal fire season this year. Practically it may not make much of a difference on the ground as people will go out of town and bring them in. A ban would however, make a statement about our committment to safety and put a mechanism in place to prosecute offenders. Perhaps proceeds from the fines could be given to our sports teams. This way, the people who use fireworks would still be supporting the teams (while breaking the law). This could be quite alot of money if the ban is aggressively enforced.
