The Scouts were there and shoppers were contributing.. let's hope they reached their goal of 700lbs of food. Thank you Cub Scouts, Cub Scout Perents, and the Grand Terrace Community and the Salvation Army for all the good work done today.
The Cub Scouts of Grand Terrace Pack 242 will be out in front of Stater Bros this Saturday Nov 13th from 9 until 3 collecting food for the Salvation Army. We have participated in this project call "Scouting for Food" for the past 3 years. The Scouting for Food program is part of a larger Boy Scouts of America movement called Good Turn for America. GTA is a national call to service by the Boy Scouts of America that will help provide adequate food and shelter and to develop good health habits in our nation. Last year our Pack collected (with the help of the good citizens of our city) over 700lbs of food to help restock the shelves of the Salvation Army's food bank.
We would like your help in getting the word out to the readers of your blog. Young Cub Scouts will be handing out slips of paper with suggested food item donations to patrons as they enter Staters. Those items can then be dropped off at a table in the parking lot.
Thanks in advance for you help.
