Sun's Support of Grand Terrace Tyrants

The Sun Telegram again writes about property in Grand Terrace, Code Enforcement, and increased taxes on Citizens for the purpose of raising more capacity of punitive action against Grand Terrace Property Owners. Did the writer ask the property owner why there was a problem? Perhaps, the City has changed the code classification of their property, and the last renter was forced to vacate and the place is empty. You have only told half the story. You may ask the city what is the General Plan for that area, and then consider that the property owner's incentive to fix up the property is limited by the property owners benefit from the repairs, and the limited use the property user would render from further investment in the property. Perhaps the property owner is old, or sick, or just mad about the intrusive city manager's tactics.

No one complains when they get a good price when they buy a house, yet they are disturbed when they for some reason cant get top dollar when they sell. Leave your neighbors alone. Property Ugliness is not a reason to tread upon the rights of a property owner. Don't encourage the City Manager and his like by only writing half a story.

Why is it that former mayor Tony Petta is not required to keep his properties in top shape? Why is it that his property has not been consumed by the Redevelopment Agency? Why is there a motor home parked in the back yard across the street from city hall, on the lawn, not a drive way as required by the code? Why are only some trees not all trees hanging over the street required to be cut, at one time?

Why does the city only report crimes called into the dispatcher, and not the arrests made?

I hope you do a better job covering the news in GT.
