More Big Brother in Grand Terrace
Have you seen the movie which was motivated by George Orwell called 1984? Everyone will be expected to answer to big brother, was the theme.
I'm wondering, has life become so so painfully busy. Our lives are bombarded with negative news everyday? Have we turned a deaf ear to our dreams of making the lives of our children better. Or, are we busy working and saving for their college so they can do it themselves?
I love the energy of the citizens in Grand Terrace at the Soccer, baseball and basketball games. Parents are so alive, with love and support that it is contagious. However, most citizens in Grand Terrace remain oblivious to the changes proposed by the Mayor, Ferre, changes are taking place and they will impact everyone.
Ignorance is not bliss.
The Press Enterprise wrote about the new rental inspections. These inspections were meant to bring more money to the City. Before the Mayor's battle to unseat her, she was crying that there wasn't enough money. During her campaign she changed her tune and said we are five million in reserve. Which is it? She is a woman who talks out of both sides of her mouth in order to call herself mayor. She said it was her dream to be like her daddy. I sure hope she has what it takes to make things right for all citizens in Grand Terrace and not just the ones who live above Mt. Vernon.
It is obvious to me that some of the council members think their title is more important than their goals, so maybe they will get out and talk to the people who live in the affected areas of the projected developments such as the Barton Road Project, Outdoor Adventure Center, Senior Project, etc. And find out how real people feel. Not just the ones who live on the hills and will not be affected by the daily bombardment of increased traffic, smog, and noise.
