Grand Terrace's best and only way to cause an improved relationship with the Current or Future Board Members of the CJUSD is possible only if all traces of Schwab/Berry/Ferre/Cortes and Garcia's attitude to CJUSD Board is removed from the City Council and City Management.
Our electorate contribution to the number of votes is dwarfed by the size of the rest of the School District. Past Council/Schwab Arrogance and conduct soured the CJUSD Board on all dealings with GT.
Fortunately with Bernardo Sandovol's alternative naming of GT High School at the Ray Abril Educational Facility, both parties the Citizens of Grand Terrace, and the CJUSD Board could save some face.
It is important for GT to elect a City Council that is diverse in their thinking, but fully independent or not tainted by dealings with Schwab/Berry in the past. Only then will other agencies and boards hope to have honest and clear dealings with the City of Grand Terrace in the future. Who supports who on the CJUSD Board is less important than providing the CJUSD Board a Schwab/Berry free Council to deal with. Focus on the Local First, then the external relationships will be better. Haven't we seen enough of the results of having "Political Friends in High Places", being used to damage local politics?
