A fire at "The Crest Apartments" in Grand Terrace has displaced 27 residents and damaged a dozen apartments.
San Bernardino County Fire reported: The four-alarm blaze at The Crest apartments on DeBerry Street started in an attic at 12:16 p.m., and spread through several units on the top floor.
Heavy winds hindered early firefighting efforts of the 90 firefighters that responded from a half-dozen agencies. They were able to gain control of the blaze after several hours of work.
The Cause of the fire is still under investigation. Residents affected are being aided by the Red Cross.
This apartment building was reciently purchased by the current owners. Rennovations are being done, it is not known if this may have contributed to the fire or not.
Lets keep track of these folks that were displaced. If you have anything to contribute to the Investigation of the Fire Please share it with the Fire Department.
Thanks to the Fire Department... and to the folks who made sure everyone was safe. It is now we must ask, what do you need, how can I help those who are now homeless.
