Fire at the Highlands Apartments Kill Resident

A deadly apartment fire in Grand Terrace near San Bernardino on Monday night.may have been caused by faulty Christmas trees lights.
Inside the destroyed apartment was found a 47 year old woman who parrased in the fire at the Highlands Apartments in the 11800 block of Mt. Vernon Ave.

A 47-year-old woman died in the fire that destroyed her apartment and damaged three others along the 11800 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Neighbors saw the flames and jumped into action.

First on the spot were neighbors who tried to extinguise the fire with fire extinguisers. The fire department responded to get full control of the situation. While there is no "Official Cause" of the fire yet, investigators say the Christmas tree lights may have sparked the fire.

There are no signs of foul play. The victim's name was not released.
