The article in the Sun today demonstrated two things. One is the reporter for the Sun, Steve Wall, prints only what the City spoon feeds him. This appeared to be a phone interview article. Nowhere did he attempt to give Ms. Stringfield's side. In the last election cycle we saw the same kind of yellow journalism. The Sun would not print any other opinion that did not agree with the incumbents that are now on the council. They went along with the personal attacks on the other candidates, one of which resulted in a law suit that the City and the reporter for the Blue Mountain Outlook lost and caused the voter guide to be reprinted.
Now Maryette Ferre, who's husband is also on the water board, although I can't find any share holders that voted for him or even knew they could vote, tells the Sun Newspaper she has already made up her mind on which project she will vote for concerning the Town Center. Of all the Gall, you would thing she would at least feign honesty and fairness toward Ms. Stringfield. Those that watch what the City does could not easily associate these words with her or other council members.
Two, the disdain Maryette Ferre has for any citizen that does not have cocktail parties in Honey Hill's or with the County corrupt political machine. I challenge anyone to show one thing that redevelopment has done for this city, save air conditioning for the school. All it has done is stolen the property taxes from you. The redevelopment illegally used RDA funds to build a building and buy a pickup truck for themselves. Schwab lives in a redevelopment house he is not legally entitled to, as does Michelle Boustede the RDA secretary and she received a $44,000 silent second deed of trust that is not to be more than 10% of the purchase price of the home, nor is there any interest payments or principle payments due unless she sells the home someday. Both do not have the right nor do they meet qualifications set by the State of Calif. They are both over qualified. This is just two examples of the rampant corruption coming out of city hall.
This months vouchers show a $1,100 payment to Nolte Engineering, Mr. Koontz other employer. The only thing redevelopment has done for the citizen of Grand Terrace is given us a Nazi form of local government. The citizen has no bearing on any decision that comes out of City Hall. The fireworks ordnance is testimony to this. The favorite few will have their neighborhoods set aside as no discharge zones, one of whom is on the ad-hock committee on fireworks, with extra law enforcement coverage that the rest of the citizens will not have. NO FIREWORKS IN HONEY HILLS. The majority of the council live there. NO FIREWORKS ON BRENTWOOD. One of the committee members live there. Odd Mr. Phelps was selected as a Planning Commissioner, he also served on the ad-hock committee that made the recommendation the same night making the two areas no discharge zones. The rest of Grand Terrace is a free fire zone. What makes our houses less susceptible to fires than those of the "elite". Very civic minded, although this is the first Council meeting he has ever attended. All RDA has done is give us politician's that are quick to sell out to the highest bidder, well actually no bids are taken here, they just sell out. But cheer up your paying their medical after they leave the council for the rest of their lives.
RDA has not made one improvement in Grand Terrace. All it has done is take the property taxes that should go for services and put them into the hands of bond counselors (City attorney John Harper) and Jacobsen Family Holdings and the sham charity Corp. for Better Housing where research has shown that if the Senior Housing had gone out for bids there are State approved companies that could have built it for half and out of better materials. Twenty years in the top position as the manager of any organization I would guess could teach a person a lot and how to hide a lot.
I wonder how the residents on Mt. Vernon are going to feel when they find out that in 2000 the State told the City to hold public meeting and advise them that Mt. Vernon would be widened to four lanes, I wonder what the resale value will be on all those beautiful rocks, again the Council fails everyone except Jacobsen Family Holdings. It is time for the citizens to get together and start recalls on these people. All it is going to do otherwise is get worst,.
