Man arrested after circling Redlands apartment complexes

REDLANDS - A Grand Terrace man was arrested before he had the chance to steal quarters from coin-operated washers and dryers in Redlands apartment complexes, according to police.
Winston John Martin Jr., 40, was arrested shortly after midnight on suspicion of possessing burglary tools, officials said.
Police contacted Martin while they were responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle circling apartment complexes in the area of Milburn Avenue and Price Street.
Police say Martin admitted he was looking for apartment complexes with Speed Queen washer-dryer combos to break into and steal coins from.
Martin said he has committed such thefts in several other cities in the past four months, according to officials.
