History
In 1962, the Grand Terrace Chamber of Commerce was organized. From the very beginning the Chamber was interested in preserving the local identity of the area, and therefore, was a strong supporter of cityhood.
City Council no longer believes in preserving our local identity. They have the power to direct the Planning Department to develope a plan for our city that would preserve life serving businesses inorder to promote a safe, comfortable city for it's citizens
Property values are now $350,000 to $450,000 in Grand Terrace. Our taxes are paid to allow elected officials to protect the citizens of Grand Terrace. That included keeping our children safe. 88% of our homeowners have graduated from high school, 50% from college and 25 % have a bachelors or higher. We are not ignorant people. If we don't plan today to keep a better Grand Terrace for our children and theirs, there will be nothing left but SMOG AND TRAFFIC.
It is apparent that our Staff of Grand Terrace have almost run us into the ground by allowing Jacobsen, (Who has taken the City hostage by being allowed to force homeowners on Barton Road to sell to him); the Redevelopment Committee (City Council) to allow City Employees to purchase homes for themselves for pennies onto he dollar; increase traffic, criminal activity and pollution in our neighborhoods.
Can you imagine what kind of traffic we will have when the OAC (Outdoor Adventure Center
There are to be No fireworks or development going on in Honey Hills.
I say lets get rid of the snobs on our Council and get some real homeowners in there to protect the "citizens" and not exploit them
Our City Council are not going to increase the lively-hood of Grand Terrace for the Citizens, only themselves.
