From the Email In Basket: Respect for the Flag

The City of Grand Terrace should be ashamed of itself.

We fly a Flag at the mobile senior citizen center that is terribly faded and tattered, maybe we cannot afford a new one since we have a pretty traffic island at the corner.

Also it has not been illuminated at night, don't know if that will change now that there is temporary power on the site but if we are going to fly our nations Flag it should be done properly.

If it cannot be done properly it should be taken down till it can.

Can someone ask staff what their position is on this?

Dan

Dear Dan: I agree with you if the Flag can't be displayed properly it should not be displayed until corrections can be made.

I provided Dan with the following addresses for the City Council all in one place to cut and paste, and he emailed back he forwarded the same email to them.

So for those of you who have Suggestions you want to give the City Council here are their addresses, and let us know, we'll post them and see if there is a response to public suggestions and or concerns.
