From the Email InBox: A Note to the Brians of GT

When I was young my brother and I would wrestle in the grass. We would laugh and giggle. Mom knew we were having fun. My dog, a cocker spaniel, would always get involved, yapping and carrying on. He was always directing his irritation to the child that was on top. Mom always thought, he was trying to help and let the play go on. Nobody ever got hurt.

Perhaps this is what the young man, Brian if feeling. He only sees the City as the underdog. Steve Berry and Council Members seem harmless enough. But then he does not see the money wasted and the illogical redevelopment of our city. He does not know that when all is said and done, if the development was left unquestioned we will be left with a Lowes, Best Buy, Major Stores on Barton Road. In addition, from Michigan to the freeway, a major RV sales Park. We will be left with major traffic jams, increased revenue for the members to creatively steal, and no place for our children to play except the streets. Oh, but we will have more police to control the children that get out of control. He does not have to live between 8 to 10 feet walls, where once you could see the infamous Blue Mountain.

It is okay for Brian to voice his opinion because we have free speech in this country. As far as we know, we are still free to audit our elected officials, and protect our children. Brian does not know that Non-Mayor Ferra has put a gag order on the Council Members, by not letting them respond to the citizens when they have questions and do address the council. He does not know that Mrs. Ferre will not answer any questions as to what she stands for or believes. Perhaps this is for her own good, because if you found out that she only wants to control and do things her way, you would see the Queen Dictator in her.

Committees are good. But when the committees have taken hours of their time and report back to the Council, she will still direct the staff to do it her way. Or she will back her Co-Dictator Schwab's Directive.

Does Brian know that there is no real Mayor or Mayor Protem in Grand Terrace? Does he know that she does not have the authority, or the skill to run a City. I suggest he spend years auditing the Council and the Planning Commission as we have and then form an opinion. But, then again, he doesn't have to in this country. If his freedom only means attacking the underdog, so be it. Everyone has a right to their words. Let him go to a meeting and express them. He will be ignored, or chastised and sooner than later he will join us in our fight to retain our freedom.
