CITY COUNCIL MEETING

I am dumb- founded after last nights meeting. Everyone of our City Council members spent time commenting on the complaints against the Stater Brothers mall. One even suggested they spend our money and have the City Attorney litigate against the Owner. Yet, they won't comment on the issues that are their business. Like our concerns for keeping traffic out of Grand Terrace and the air pollution. Safety for our kids and real "Community Development" in the direction of a Recreation Center, after school programs, skate park, etc., etc. I really think we elected some airheads!

After talking to a mom who has been talking to Mrs. Ferre, I am also surprised to learn that she thinks the Lowe's will provide funds for children's programs. In fact many people believe this because the Council has mentioned several times that we ( citizens of Grand Terrace) voted against the 5% no accountability tax and that is why they shut down the children's programs.

It is time we take matters into our own hands. Grand Terrace is our city, not theirs. They are only interested in the money. We are interested in a quality of life.

Perhaps it is time we get some real citizens envolved in the City Council. Perhaps only citizens should be hired into City positions. I'm suggesting that if you don't live here you shouldn't have a point of view.

I am outraged that there wasn't more attention given to the real issues. Shame on you City Council Members.
