School Traffic Suggestion

Traffic in the areas around our schools is at least frustrating, at most a safety hazard. Perhaps the traffic engineering people could look into making the short section infront of GT Elementary School, Vivienda a One Way Street. This would I think be an improvement. In addition a crossing guard, traffic director should be at the crosswalk by the old bus barn.

The green Median or lawn with the trees in front of Terrace View Middle school should be elimnated and used for pull through pick up parking. Kind of like at Disneyland.... Again all traffic should be going in one direction... Perhaps in this case easterly making a loop around vista grande way... again a traffic director should be at that intersection to aid walkers, and traffic flow.

The chaos at Terrace Hills Jr. High School. well, that is an interesting one indeed. More of the students walk home. Therefore, the cars should enter from Mt. Vernon, and exit on Dos Rios/Palm/ To Preston. No Left Turns should be allowed during the hour of release time... as people making turns from Debery onto Mt Vernon OFTEN challenge Students for the right of way. When if fact, the pedestrian has the right of way and the Auto has to wait for a yellow light to finish his turn. That makes it a one or two cars at a time proposition. Which then slows the traffic driving straight down deberry to Michigan... or making a right turn.

Yep.. I have seen this at all three locations. I fear what will happen with more cars, on both Mt. Vernon and Barton Rd.

What appended to the Privately Operated Kiddy Carousel Day Care Center... Did the City's Day Care Drive them Out of Business? Or is this part of the "Redevelopment Plan of the City?" Who owns this building????
