The name of an attorney as the agent for service for this corporation usually means that the real individuals who get the money are not those whose names are easily available, for whatever reason. I wonder what if anything they have to hide? Have they come to any of the planning commission meetings so we can see who they are? Why should we the taxpayers give $9 million to a nameless, faceless corporation? It looks like a shell game to me, with seniors housing as the cover and excuse. Not to mention the excuse to change the general plan, the specific plan and housing density in town!

I heard that the agreement the city signed with the "preferred developer" for Town Square also contained property descriptions to take over the Terraces Retirement Center property and the Azure Hills church. Is the city Nuts or what? They never got this approved.

Gosh it's true isn't it?! The folks that are suing the city over bad environmental reports for OAC and faulty EIR planning need to call themselves "Citizens for a Better Grand Terrace" because they may be afraid of retribution from staff at city hall, or personal danger. Watch for the posting of their case SCVS119897. Perhaps we better think of electing folks who care about our city residents, who like great schools, clean air, clean water, lighted and paved streets, police, fire safety, flood control, in short--the general plan as it was! Maybe a new council could do such hiring.

If you look back at the original plans approved for "Town Square" it was for senior housing, library, movie theater and restaurants along Barton Road between Michigan and Canal Street. It did NOT include demolishing the Pit Stop business, Auto Zone or Hair Benders. The only "blight" in that area is on property owned by the city or the preferred developer. When the ZONING was changed along Barton the city said it would make their property more valuable. It was promised that no residents would be forced from their homes. Let's work together to get back to that PLAN!
