Blue Mt. Senior Villas (Apartments)

Council Meeting Disconnected:

Statements that conflict:

"If the Blue Mt. Senior Villas (Apartments) aren't built on Grand Terrace Road, the City could sell the property to a developer which would put 3 story houses on the property."

What developer has the power to Force the City to sell and approve the 3 story houses on land that is zoned for a GREEN SPACE. What developer has the power to force the city to build on the Land that TONY PETTA donated to the City with a provision that a Park Be Named in remembrance for his daughter Susan Petta. As I recall Susan, she loved archery, raised goats and was an active member of 4H.

Mr. Tony Petta said: "When it gets to be the time to move or downsize, I want to move into the Blue Mt. Senior Villas, and I most likely won't be driving by then."

Mr. Petta and all the Seniors that share his thinking, beware of the following: Empty apartments aren't going to be waiting for you when you are "Ready" to move in. You will have to move in as soon as the apartments are available, or someone else will move in, and they will be there until they die. Giving Preferential Treatment for GT Seniors may not be legal under the Fair Housing Act. No one should assume that the Management Contracted Services include sufficient transportation for shopping, doctor appointments, and a run to the coffee house. No one should assume that a non active adult should live in the Senior Villas. If you are 55 and qualify move in. Just think of all the money you will save on rent.

Tom Schwab said: "The other apartment complexes were denied permits because the neighbors didn't want them."

How odd. The neighbors of the Senior Villa's don't want it built at the proposed. Many non neighbors don't want it built at the proposed site. Yet in spite of the "General Plan", and the voiced dislike by the neighbors the Senior Villa's were approved, in spite of the fact that the "Approved" plan was just made available for the first time at tonight's City Council Meeting.

How odd. The City Special Plan for a Specific Plan was a City Plan which violates City Code related to Garages and Parking Spaces.

How odd. The Public Park, has no Public Restrooms, or sufficient parking.

How odd that the State redevelopment Agency sent a letter rejecting the plan for the Special Plan and CRA funds being used because the housing is limited to Seniors ONLY, and the city's plans do not address all the citizens needs for housing.

Yet, the City Council Voted for the project as revised and presented to the Council. These revised plans did not go before the planning commission, or the planning department. These revised plans did not have a public review at the planning commission level. These revised plans may have appeased a minority of persons with concerns, but the larger voice was against the placement on this site the Senior Housing Project.

This is the Planet Earth, the United States of America, State of California, County of San Bernardino, City of Grand Terrace to the City Council.... Hello can you hear us now????? We citizens don't approve of how this city is being managed under the Office of City Manager Tom Schwab.

"Tom Schwab said to the Council. "If you don't like what the CRA does, and the money we provide to the City, dissolve the CRA."

Was that a dare? Will the City Council be willing prostitutes for City Manager Mr. Schwabs Pimping of the Citizens, and City? Or will they say no to him and his hand picked developers.

The Business Issues with the Corporation for Better Housing are still suspect. The lack of obtaining competitive plans and bids is suspect, and bad business practice. The Corporation for Better Housing a IRS Charity giving money for a Concert, Paying most of its revenue to Fees not to charitable acts or projects, while trying to garner zone changes, and plan approvals is a possible violation of Tax Law, Conflict of Interest Law and other possible malfeasance. Of course this was not discussed before approving the Project. There was more than Design being approved at tonight's meeting.

Where will Terrace View Elementary School Expand to when Grand Terrace School is encroached upon by the Freeway? Oh,,, darn there is an apartment building there.... Filled with 55 year olds who are drunks staring at our school children. Just a warning of what could be.
