CITY STILL WON'T RELEASE INFORMATION ON CONTRIBUTIONS

Council Member Miller requested a report or audit on the Costs and Contributions related to the past Grand Terrace Days. Included in this report would be a disclosure in detail the amount of time City Employees spent, paid, and unpaid, and comp-time hours. The receipts from Contributing Sponsors, and the expenses Paid.

This report has been requested by a community member by handing a summary form to Steve Berry. He has not provided that citizen with the detail, and has responded to the blogs request by insisting that all requests for information must be made in writing.

This report was requested originally by a Council Member at a PUBLIC Council Meeting. Why is it not being freely disseminated? Please use the Letter of request below as a sample of making a request from the city in the future.

Failure to provide the requested information only adds to the suspicion of the citizens that the City's Decisions are being guided by the Contributions made to the GT Days Fund.

What they fear is that one person obtains the information and shares it with the blog or others, which by the way is perfectly legal. They fear that knowing that Contractors, Developers, and the people with zoning changes before the council are major contributors to the city's Party Fund.

Please Request in writing the Following:

A copy of the receipts of Contributions Ledger for GTDays Committee for the Year of 2004-5

A copy of the expense Ledger with details for the GTDays Committee

Time and Activity Sheets for all Employees for the Week before and the

Week after the GTDays

A Blog Reader has requested a list of All City Owned and CRA owned Property and has been denied such a list without putting the request in writing.

Please exercise your right to obtain the information. The next step in dealing with a City who wants to hide information is putting the request in writing. If they then fail to provide the information they are in VIOLATION of the Law. Steps can be taken after they refuse to comply.

HOLDING BACK THE INFORMATION MAKES THEM LOOK LIKE THERE IS GUILT or SHAME
