PLEASE TAKE OUT PAPERS...

This is not a call for you to recycle your paper...

This is a call to Citizens who will step up to the challenge of bringing Reform to the City Council. There are specific Issues, facing the City and the City Council. IF you are ready to be supported by a swelling of interest in Good Governance, Please take out Papers to Run For Office.

These seats are as important to the effort to refocus the direction of City Governance as those two Council Members Ferre, and Garcia who are facing Recall.

Candidates with a strong position on recall and reform are encourage to collaborate their efforts and not take votes from each others. Remember the goal is to serve the community, and to reform the Governance.

Filing Period Opens

Candidates for mayor and one City Council seat in Grand Terrace can file nomination papers beginning Monday, July 17th at the city clerk's office, City Hall, 22795 Barton Road. The deadline is Aug. 11.

The terms for incumbents Herman Hilkey and Bea Cortes have expired. If Hilkey and Cortes seek re-election, the nomination period for non-incumbents extends to Aug. 16.

Residents 18 and older are eligible to run for offices that expire in November 2010. The election will be Nov. 7.

The City Clerk has the paper work and the Information: 909-430-2212. It part of the function of the City Clerk to assist in the filling out of the papers.
