Programs for Youth

Grandpaterrace Asked:
With a Middle School, and a Future High School there is a great lacking of resources for Grand Terrace Youth. Students go home to empty homes, lack assistance with home work, or have employment opportunities close to school or home.

Will the city pay more to City Management, and staff, or will it provide real opportunities for after school engagement for the students 7-12th grades.

oh paalleeeez. the city is responsible now for doing what PARENTS should be doing? It is certainly not the cities responsibility to pick up the slack for parents who are not home for their children. gimme a break.

With your point of view then all the current services for children under the age of 6th grade should be canceled? These are partially funded by the city, for all those parents who are not doing their job. Do parents quit their jobs when their children are too old for day care, or after school care? Teenagers need more supervision than children, not less, yet there is a willingness for the city's participation in "Parenting" up to the 6th grade, and then like many parents they just drop out of the youths support system. Just a though on how the city could better use limited resources.
