Cortes was unavailable to comment, but her campaign consultant, Chris Jones, said the letter was welcome news.
"The kind of anonymous campaign that's being waged against Bea is, I think, based on lies, and I think that's being exposed," Jones said. "The bottom line is she's done an outstanding job for Grand Terrace, and this sheds light on the false charges and political chicanery that's going on against her."
Gene Carlstom, owner of Terra Loma, said no money changed hands between Cortes and the company. None of the citizens who filed the original complaint could be reached Wednesday.
Re Read the Above from the news paper article below:
Chris Jones: Identifies anonymous campaign being waged against Bea....
WRONG: He emailed Debra Hurst. Debra Hurst Filed State Required Documents, she is not Anonymous.
The Charges against Bea Cortes were not Anonymous: 12 Citizens signed their NAMES to the Complaint.
Bea Cortes and Steve Berry filed and Anonymous charge against Jim Miller.. and engineered his being arrested on inflated charges, that were later deflated from a felony to a misdemeanor.
The DA's Office used a very narrow definition of compensation to being only money changing hands and did not include items or services Terra Loma provided Ms Cortes apparently without her paying for the services. This is called in kind payment and there is a value. Recently a politician got in trouble for accepting a ride from the airport from a lobbies or a contractor or something like that. He didn't pay for the limo or the driver...
In addition to the complaint in the document that 12 named citizens filed the San Bernardino Sentinel uncovered additional votes and payments that should have been included in the case. Much more than 2800.00 was transfered to Terra Loma.
Now we have to ask who is paying Chris Jones for his services? Who is financing her campaign? Is she getting additional help from outside of GT?
