Doug Jacobsen all of the sudden is getting his Development Plan pushed through the Planning Commission and one would assume the lame duck City Council. People this is important. The Plan having a Public Hearing may include things including such things as additional payments to Doug Jacobsen as "Encouragement" to build in GT. Well friends, we should not be adding any more "Encouragement" to Mr. Jacobsen. We can't afford it. If he whines construction costs have risen, it is a lie. Cost to build is down, people are hungry for work.He should be required to replace the housing elements he destroyed FIRST then build the empty retail buildings, then he may have people to patronize the new stores and snack shops.
He should not get any special treatment, he should as a matter of fact be treated like Barney Karger was when he struggled to build homes on De Berry. He was forced to provide "Open Space" the Pocket Park, in order to get the final plans approved.
This is another situation where if you don't show up and speak your mind, You lose your right to take the Plan to Court if needed. You'll lose your right to appeal. You know the plan is already approved and the majority of the City Council, Ferre, Garcia, and Cortes are ready to approve it. Of course so is Wilson, and Schwab, McNoble, and all. None of them will or would ask a hard question or demand all documents are FINISHED prior to approval. Heck that would cut out the horse trading opportunities.
Documents are not available ON LINE they should be... Simple as that. Reduced City Office Hours should mandate all items of the PC or CC or RDA be Available for Review by the Public and interested parties prior to approval or the public meeting.
