Professional Citizens ONLY..

Council Member Cortez's Statement is intended to elevate the conduct of the Great Unwashed Illbehaved Public who at times expresses themselves in a way that is not "PROFESSIONAL" this is a "PROFESSIONAL MEETING"... She went off topic with wanting the RULES posted at the entrance of the building.

HERES a THOUGHT... HOW about posting all city doucments on the WEB site... OH no... can't do that.

A Council Meeting should not include shoe throwing, or chair flinging. However, to say it is PROFESSIONAL is an attempt to create an elitist separation between the classes of the public and Council, or perhaps a Cast System in the community itself. I can't let this pass without review.

City Council Meetings are not PROFESSIONAL MEETINGS. Yeah we should be on our best behavior. BUT, City Council Meetings are not for Professionals only. THE ONLY PROFESSIONALS that are there and should be recognizes for their PROFESSIONAL INPUT or Status are the City attorney and City Manager while they speak as their FUNCTION and its Status. PERHAPS the City Council receives sufficient Trips to Monterey, and San Diego, Health Insurance and other perks they may consider themselves PROFESSIONAL, but it is hardly considered a PROFESSION to be on the CITY COUNCIL.

So the USE OF THE WORD troubles me. THE INTENT behind the use of the word also troubles me. I would rather a person with turrets speak their mind at a council meeting than be silenced by a "Professional Standard". I wonder if such a person could be an asset as a Council Member, perhaps. Hmmmm I think more on that thought.

Sure Individuals at times lose it... What should be PROFESSIONAL, or perhaps a better term would be Elevating is the response to those INDIVIDUALS which will aid their future participation and communication to be presented in an improved more "Socially Acceptable Way".

The tone and frustration is set by the Council action and inaction... Don't be shocked at the results it has on the "PUBLIC". Your time is up, Please Summarize.

The City Council is not a professional Meeting!!! It is a PUBLIC Meeting of the Great Unwashed Rabble of the Citizens of Grand Terrace. IF you Council Members or City Staff, don't like the people attracted to Council Meetings, or they are beneath your social strada perhaps you should retire to your social club and associate with your kind... However, you define yourself.

Perhaps you need to exist in an environment with more refinement than JQ PUBLIC..
