Any Governmental Regulation or Intrusion into the Rights and Freedoms of Individual beyond those of the US Constitution, and the State Constitution, and The County Code are oppressive and vile.
Then Why have a City? Why in deed. Do we have better police protection than Colton? Do we have a Better Parks and Rec Department? Do we have better facilities for Seniors and Children... NO... We wanted to be a bedroom community. Now we are becoming a Drive Threw Freeway Bypass and Developers Dream Spot with a City Council Willing to Debase this Bedroom by committing political, and the civic equivalent of adultery.
Oh, I forget you don't like being compared to Colton. How about Redlands, Loma Linda, Mira Loma, Norco, Highgrove. Lets not be so proud of ourselves for taking money from developers and having a party. What is the real expense of Grand Terrace Days? We will never know how the contributions effected Council and City Managements decisions. There is an uneasy intangible relationship or lack of ethics floating to the surface here in Grand Terrace. The stench is down right odious.
The City Council and City Manager are bedding down with the Developer, taking Developer money for "Special Events" and not maintaining the desires of the founding community, nor the existing citizens. The CRA increases the level of debt while telling the citizens it is just refinancing the existing debt, while increasing the total debt of the CRA, but never addmitting that the CITY is the co signer of that debt.
Perhaps the Chamber of Commerce should encourage a fleet of Proctologist to move into the professional buildings. I think the Citizens and Founding Land Owners will be needing their services a lot more than a Lowes, or Saveon, or Drive Threw restaurants, not to mention the other pollution being brought to the community. Gads, lets not have a Youth Program... NO... Says Council Member hill's... NO, it is not our Job. But, lets regulate the color of paint, the type of fence, and paint all the curbs red, ticket parked cars, and RV's, and lets not let folks have yard sales, and all the nit pickky stuff the city wants to have in its codes.
It is time the City Council, and City Government has their jobs minimized to the smallest of functions. They can hardly audit the check register and contracts entered into by the city. How dare they manage our land, and land use... Their only concern is for Higher Property Values, so the realtors of the bunch can make more money as home owners sell and resale their properties, and increase the tax base each sale. Their collusion with the CRA and Developers demonstrates a lack of ethics.
In case I haven't made myself clear, I think the bunch of them are simply vile, and should be out of public service, as they do not serve the public, but themselves and special interests the developers and realtors of the community.
