Low Rents Available to City Employee

Why is City Employee Jeff Gollihar, Planning Technician provided housing at a low rental rate?

This is the same fellow who gave his opinion on the Manhole Builder's Development on Vivienda. (The reporter understanding Jeff lived near the project.)

A chief concern of appealing residents is Manhole's proximity to their homes. But City Project Planner Jeff Gollihar noted that the project, although near homes, is a light-to-medium industrial use proposed in an area zoned for heavy industrial.

When in fact Jeff Gollihar lives in property rented by him for a lower than market rate of $600.00 per month on 22293 Barton Rd. The First house closest to the GT Retirement Center. Barton Road which is owned and maintained by the City of Grand Terrace.

When in fact City ord 189 says only light non-polluting industry is allowed. (Copies Available Upon Request)

Does Jacobsen owns the house now or have they paid the City Yet? How Can We Know? Does he qualify for a low to mod income for that kind of rent? Since they wont tell us what city employees are paid, in violation of prop 59, and his position with the city I would guess he doesn't fit into either category.

This is just another abuse of the RDA program by the city. He has lived there as far as we can determine as long as the city owned it.His statements of having no concern about the proposed Manhole Builders Project as a potential neighbor are therefore suspect at the least. If it is zoned for it build it, is his attitude. Why did he make such a representation? What are his motives? Just another example of why the citizens of GT cant trust City Hall.

Where else in the city can you rent a home, trailer, mobile or other for 600.00 per month?
