THANKS SCOOP

I feel bad that we lost Press-Enterprise reporter Paul LaRocco to Fontana today. He earned our trust and respect which no reporter from the recent or long term past has done. He reported fairly and honestly. He would get both sides of the story when there were sides to get. He was unbiased in his reporting.

We knew we could suggest a story to Paul and he would do an excellent job of getting the facts. All the reporters from recent memory at both the Press-Enterprise and the Sun would only get the city's side of any story and only print what the city spoon fed them.

We thank you Paul. We affectionately called him "Scoop" because thats what he did. He would usually have the story before the Sun and before the citizens of Grand Terrace knew what was going on. Thanks to Paul many issues would have never seen the light of day. Fontana's gain is our loss.

I'm sure the City of Fontana will have much to worry about now. I will miss looking every morning to see what he had written on Grand Terrace. We will watch Paul 's stories and keep in touch. As word spread today and the calls came in, all were in agreement that we had lost a champion of the readers of the Press-Enterprise. We are the worst off for it.

We are indebted to you Paul for your willingness to ask the questions that did not want to be answered and did not win you any popularity contest at city hall. We respected your professionalism. We felt for you when city officials denied what you reported or said you twisted their words. We all knew they needed no help twisting words. They have had years of practice. We knew who the truthful person was. We all wish you the very best and thank you Scoop. I look forward to the day I can do a post here titled" SCOOPS BACK"
