Charge Detail:
HS11377. (a) Except as authorized by law and as otherwise provided insubdivision (b) or Section 11375, or in Article 7 (commencing withSection 4211) of Chapter 9 of Division 2 of the Business andProfessions Code, every person who possesses any controlled substancewhich is (1) classified in Schedule III, IV, or V, and which is nota narcotic drug, (2) specified in subdivision (d) of Section 11054,except paragraphs (13), (14), (15), and (20) of subdivision (d), (3)specified in paragraph (11) of subdivision (c) of Section 11056, (4)specified in paragraph (2) or (3) of subdivision (f) of Section11054, or (5) specified in subdivision (d), (e), or (f) of Section11055, unless upon the prescription of a physician, dentist,podiatrist, or veterinarian, licensed to practice in this state,shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail for a period ofnot more than one year or in the state prison.

PC496d. (a) Every person who buys or receives any motor vehicle, asdefined in Section 415 of the Vehicle Code, any trailer, as definedin Section 630 of the Vehicle Code, any special constructionequipment, as defined in Section 565 of the Vehicle Code, or anyvessel, as defined in Section 21 of the Harbors and Navigation Code,that has been stolen or that has been obtained in any mannerconstituting theft or extortion, knowing the property to be stolen orobtained, or who conceals, sells, withholds, or aids in concealing,selling, or withholding any motor vehicle, trailer, specialconstruction equipment, or vessel from the owner, knowing theproperty to be so stolen or obtained, shall be punished byimprisonment in the state prison for 16 months or two or three yearsor a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or both,or by imprisonment in a county jail not to exceed one year or a fineof not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or both.

PC1320. (a) Every person who is charged with or convicted of thecommission of a misdemeanor who is released from custody on his orher own recognizance and who in order to evade the process of thecourt willfully fails to appear as required, is guilty of amisdemeanor. It shall be presumed that a defendant who willfullyfails to appear within 14 days of the date assigned for his or herappearance intended to evade the process of the court.

PC653k. Every person who possesses in the passenger's or driver'sarea of any motor vehicle in any public place or place open to thepublic, carries upon his or her person, and every person who sells,offers for sale, exposes for sale, loans, transfers, or gives to anyother person a switchblade knife having a blade two or more inches inlength is guilty of a misdemeanor. For the purposes of this section, "switchblade knife" means aknife having the appearance of a pocketknife and includes aspring-blade knife, snap-blade knife, gravity knife or any othersimilar type knife, the blade or blades of which are two or moreinches in length and which can be released automatically by a flickof a button, pressure on the handle, flip of the wrist or othermechanical device, or is released by the weight of the blade or byany type of mechanism whatsoever. "Switchblade knife" does notinclude a knife that opens with one hand utilizing thumb pressureapplied solely to the blade of the knife or a thumb stud attached tothe blade, provided that the knife has a detent or other mechanismthat provides resistance that must be overcome in opening the blade,or that biases the blade back toward its closed position. For purposes of this section, "passenger's or driver's area" means that part of a motor vehicle which is designed to carry the driver 853.7. Any person who willfully violates his or her written promiseto appear or a lawfully granted continuance of his or her promise toappear in court is guilty of a misdemeanor, regardless of thedisposition of the charge upon which he or she was originallyarrested.and passengers, including any interior compartment or space therein.
