Fireworks Not A Good Thing

E-mail Alerts: The fire must be on or near the freeway. All freeway traffic has been diverted to Michigan


E-mailed ALERT: At 2:30 the F.D. went n/b on Michigan. No siren just lights. The smoke is hanging over this part of G.T. and the smell of fire. I wonder where and what started it. Better question what could have prevented it from starting. Neighbors are still looking for my other neighbors dog. Lexus is a female pointer brn and white with bobbed tail. Grand Terrace used to be nice, before Fireworks.

E-mailed Update: The same people from the above comments started setting off illegal fire works at 8:30 and it is now 12:45. Three complaints have been called into the Sheriffs and there was no response.

Its been going on in my neighborhood for days. Its not the "Safe and Sane" whatever that is. The people across the street set off bottle rockets and what sound like quarter sticks of dynamite that rattle our windows and frighten our and our other neighbors animals. It goes on till the early hours of the a.m. The police confiscated illegal fireworks from them a couple weeks ago and within days they start it all over again. We need a real city ordnance. We listened to the loud music and the yelling and the sky rockets exploding over our houses. Why not call the Sheriff?You could not get a dispatcher on the non-emergency line. You got placed on hold. We need a law with a substanital fine and enforcement.

Firework Sales Invite the Entire County to Grand Terrace

Adelanto, Chino, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Rialto and areas of Colton and San Bernardino, are cities that sell and allow the use of fireworks of the safe and sane type.

Are we to be surprised when our streets turn into a war zone, with the entire county knowing where to visit on Fire Day? There are a lot of reasons that people will come to GT to set off their fireworks, hospitality, and an organized fireworks lighting location aren't amongst them. Keep your water buckets, and hoses ready folks. We heard about the lax enforcement to expect, the hazards of even the safe and sane fireworks.

Lets rethink this issue before next year. Like at the NEXT Meeting of the Council.
