BLUE MOUNTAIN SENIOR VILLAS
$19 million project for seniors with low to moderate income
120 units, a 6,500-square-foot senior center and an adjoining park.
Construction is to begin in January.

GRAND TERRACE - Nearly $10 million already has been set aside. Now it's time for Grand Terrace to hear what the public thinks of its ambitious senior-housing project that aims to connect more than 100 condos with a new senior center and park.

In preparation for a long-awaited Planning Commission public hearing on the project early next month, the city has been gathering feedback from both the over-55 crowd and the general population through questionnaires and house calls from a local senior advocate.

............................................."It just makes Grand Terrace a better community," he said. "You're talking about 120-plus seniors who would have otherwise had to leave town. Now they can stay with their children, in Grand Terrace, and in their comfort zone." .............................

GrandpaTerrace's Comment: How many Seniors have "HAD" to leave town? Could it be only those who the City has forced to sell their property, or been otherwise harassed by the City Code Enforcement Officer, or those whose Property Value looks attractive to Tax Collectors, Realtors and Developers? This is an effort to encourage or force seniors out of their homes, by providing the "opportunity" to move in to the housing facility. This City is providing Funds to a Private Development, which will reduce senior owned single family homes for the purpose of increasing the tax rolls when their homes are sold to younger home buyers at current market value. They hope 120 homes at Prop 13 tax rates are sold, and re assessed for taxes, and put into the cycle of sell and resale that occurs with younger home owners. Don't believe otherwise.
