COLTONCity seeks assistant city manager
The city will begin recruiting for an assistant city manager.
Al Holliman, who formerly held the post, retired June 30.
The Human Resources Department will conduct a nationwide recruitment. The winning candidate is expected to start working in January. The annual cost of the position, including salary and benefits, is $170,000.

GRAND TERRACECouncil rejects claims for pothole damage
The City Council on Thursday night rejected two claims filed against the city for vehicle damage caused by potholes.

Jonathan Jewkes, a Colton resident, was seeking $150 for the cost to repair his rearview mirror and windshield he said were damaged when his vehicle ran over a pothole.

Ed Palafox, of Grand Terrace, was asking for $664 for the cost to replace two flat tires and other damage he said was caused by a pothole.
