Action Reaction Action

It is now the responsibility of the local government's citizens to define the use of Eminent domain as a use for the "Public Good". Local Governments can be constrained by Local Measures or Ordinances which define or limit the use of Eminent Domain so that private property is not given to a second or third private property developer, "for the Good of the Community".

Yes Right Here in Grand Terrace such an Ordinance is needed and given the nature of our current "Management" and Council it will take a Measure put on the ballot by the citizens to make such an ordinance of protection for the property owners of Grand Terrace.

Even under California Law, there is reason to question the validity of the use of Eminent domain to shift ownership from one private party to a second private party. Putting the "Public Library" in the plan is not a valid use of Eminent Domain, as the "Public Library" wont own the building, and thus it is not "Public Property", it is a Public Service located on Private Property.

Lets close this deal down. End it. Everyone write to Lowes and tell them there is a perfectly good Empty K-Mart in Colton, right off the Freeway waiting for them. Tell them there is a not welcome sign out in Grand Terrace, no freeway visibility, and traffic problems for their trucks and customers trying to haul stuff from their stores.

Stop shopping at Staters in Grand Terrace. Go down to the Washington Street Store, or better yet go to Cardenas, or another location all together, let Stater's know you don't want a super store in Grand Terrace if it means that Citizens have to be pushed off their property, and a Lowes has to be part of the "Improvement".

Stop the dominoes of this development from dropping, and letting it all fall in place.

Just look at the "Progress" being made at the Savon's because the "smaller" shops aren't pre leased. Obviously there is not the feeling if you build it they will come... Look down the hill, how many empty buildings are there waiting for retail stores? Drive through Redlands, and Colton, and Loma Linda, look at the available spaces.

Stop the madness, Write the Measure, pass it in to being an Ordinance. Take Action..
