Grand Terrace Little League Contributes to the
Deliquency of your Youth!
At approximately 6:15 p.m. I stopped with friends at the Grand Terrace Little League Fire Works stand located at the Stater Bros. Parking lot across from Hollywood Video. It was about 15 minutes before the booth was going to close down. My friends had to run to the store ATM to get cash for their purchase. I patiently waited in the shade at the booth. They quickly returned in about 5 minutes.
During my wait I was absolutely floored to witness the Little League Representatives sell fire works to minors under the age of 16 without even giving it a second thought! Who monitors these people? Where is the Sheriff? They are selling gun power to minors! Why don't we allow them to sell guns too!
Two boys road up on bicycles....both approximately at 12 - 13 years old. Obviously not 16 because lets get real how many 16 year olds walk any where or ride a bike to the store these days! No questions were asked by the attendants as to the age of the individuals what so ever. The boys pooled their $1 dollar bills to purchase 3 large canister fire works.
Directly under the window where monies were exchanged was a sign stating no purchase by individuals under 16 years of age. Upon the completion of the purchase I questioned the attendants...(of which there were 4 inside the booth...)if they check ID when making sales?
The answer I received was "normally". My reply "So, you don't as long as you make a buck? It doesn't matter if our houses burn down because you sold illegally to minors?" "And what exactly is normally and who determines if it's normal?"
The reply I rereceivedbsp;was the attendants laughing... No wonder there were more illegal fire works this year than any other! Where does it stop! Who takes responsibility and is held accountable?
This is an example of what Little League is teaching the children of Grand Terrace. My vote, no more fire works in Grand Terrace, turn out the lights on the irresponsibility of the Grand Terrace Little League we are all safer if they go back to selling candy bars!
